How we sleep drives.
How we feel.

Good sleep is essential for overall health and well-being. Proper breathing during sleep improves oxygen flow, enhancing the depth and quality of rest. This leads to better mood regulation, increased mental alertness, and reduced stress levels. Optimal sleep also supports heart health, helps in regulating blood sugar, and strengthens the immune system. We know that effective breathing can transform your sleep experience, promoting a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.

Paula is amazing- she’s efficient and clear in explanations of exercises and rationale- and just personable. Weird exercises feel less odd with her somehow than I’d expect.

Got Questions?
We’ve got answers!

BreatheWorks therapy addresses issues like mouth breathing and nasal congestion, often through exercises that promote nasal breathing and improve overall airway function. From the body’s core to the neck and head, nose, pharynx to diaphragm, the mouth and face, BreatheWorks treats the oropharyngeal system as a whole, this is what makes us stand out from other providers.
Yes, we can help your sleep apnea or upper airway resistance syndrome (UARS) and even mouth breathing and snoring! The BreatheWorks treatments for sleep disordered breathing include overall body exercises addressing your core, head, neck, throat, tongue, lips, and jaws to improve the function and reduce, and in many cases eliminate your sleep disordered breathing. We have patients who are now off CPAP devices and other sleep aids by following our program.

Yes, BreatheWorks accepts most major insurance plans as well as out of pocket rates. Please see our insurance and benefits page for details or give us a call and we can help you understand your benefits.

Sleeping problems can present in a number of ways. Recognizing problems with sleep involves paying attention to various signs and symptoms that may indicate difficulties. Here are some common indicators that you may have problems with your sleep: difficulty falling asleep, frequent awakenings, enuresis or bedwetting as a sign of airway dysfunction, feeling tired during the day, irregular sleep patterns, difficulty concentrating and memory problems, mood changes, physical symptoms, snoring or breathing problems, restless legs syndrome, and waking up unrefreshed.

Age is not a barrier to seeking treatment for sleep apnea or sleep-disordered breathing. We work across the lifespan from infants through geriatrics showing remarkable outcomes at every stage. You can improve your quality of life at any age and can start breathing, sleeping, eating, talking, and feeling Better!

Orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMD)

OMD are the result of abnormal muscle patterns in the mouth and throat, impacting essential functions such as speech, sleep, swallowing, and breathing. These disorders often stem from various factors including genetics, childhood habits (e.g., thumb-sucking), tongue-tie, or allergies. Symptoms include challenges in speech, swallowing difficulties, TMJ issues, mouth breathing, and open mouth posture (which can affect facial development negatively). OMD may influence digestion, speech, behavior, and even lead to choking or aspiration. BreatheWorks' interdisciplinary therapy focuses on re-training muscles, fostering symmetry, and enhancing oropharyngeal function. Our comprehensive hands-on approach is effective, as early identification and treatment of OMD can prevent more severe issues in adulthood.
